The Royal Audit Authority (RAA) organized a significant press conference on December 11, 2024, to unveil its Annual Audit Report (AAR) for the fiscal year 2023-24. The event was presided over by the Hon’ble Auditor General and featured active participation from Deputy Auditors General and senior officials, who engaged with media representatives by addressing insightful questions and providing clarifications.
The conference saw a diverse turnout from various media houses, ensuring wide dissemination of the report’s findings to the public.
As part of its constitutional and legal mandates, the RAA formally submitted the AAR 2023-24 to His Majesty The King, the Prime Minister, and the Parliament, adhering to Article 25(5) of the Constitution of the Kingdom of Bhutan and Chapter 6, Section 111 of the Audit Act of Bhutan 2018. The report was subsequently tabled during the Joint Sitting of the Second Session of the Fourth Parliament on December 10, 2024.
The AAR 2023-24 presents an in-depth analysis of key areas needing attention to enhance transparency, account ability, and efficiency in public sector operations. This effort reaffirms the RAA’s dedication to promoting good governance, ensuring fiscal discipline, and strengthening accountability mechanisms across Bhutan.
