Dasho Tashi, the Hon’ble Auditor General (AG) assumed office formally on 20 October 2020 and immediately decided to orient himself with current structure and set-up of RAA and status of audit assignments. The AG’s meeting with RAA employees kicked off with an overall presentation on RAA by the Policy & Planning Division on 21 October 2020.
Dasho Tashi spoke to the auditors and staff of the aspirations and hope he had for the RAA during his tenure, including enhancing the utilization of ICT to leverage manpower and time constraints, improving efficiency and effectiveness of auditing and reporting mechanisms and finally ensuring that RAA’s Audit Reports create a positive impact for the society and the nation as a whole. He also spoke of the need to set realistic audit plans, given the constraints, and for a holistic approach in terms of reporting the audit findings to RAA’s stakeholders.
The Department of Sectoral Audit (DSA) and its Divisions, GGD, RTICD & SCID made their presentations on 21 October 2020 and the Department of Performance and Compliance Audits and its Divisions, COAD, PAD & TAD, and the FUCD made their presentations on the afternoon of 22 October 2020.
The AG met with officials and staff under the Department of Follow-up and Regions (DFR) including the four OAAGs of Bumthang, Phuentsholing, Samdrup Jongkhar & Tsirang, and the Professional Development Centre (PDC) in Tsirang virtually on the afternoon of 23 October 2020.
The last group of employees to make presentations and status updates in the evening of 23 October 2020 were those in RQAD and the Directorate of Services (DoS) including the HRIRD, ICTD & AFS.
